With the open beta across all platforms starting up tomorrow, I thought I'd start a thread for people to talk about the game!

@Nildabeast and I played the first version of the game, which was alright but got old very quick. The new game definitely introduces a lot of the fun elements we loved from the original Playstation games; classes, ship battles in space, a solo player storyline, etc. All very exciting stuff!

I watched a live stream today, and I have to say the game looks stunning. Definitely has a lot of elements in common with the Battlefield games and also some PUBG. I thought it was kind of cool that the weapons didn't look as "lasery", but looked much more like proper bullets. Still had nice sound effects, but just weren't graphically overloaded. I like that.

I'm also a fan of the prequel style and designs. I love playing the clones and I can't wait to dive into the game for myself and experience it! I like the changes they've made so far, but really want to experience the game for myself before I decide if I want to drop the money on it or not.

What about the rest of you? Have you played the game yet? What did you think? What are your reactions? If you played the original Battlefront (either the new rebooted one or the classic one or both) how would you compare the games?

Can't wait to see what everyone thinks and share some moments! :D

I'm sorry I haven't been online in a while! As you say, @Lifefire, you and I enjoyed the first Battlefront reboot for awhile, but it did get old after a while. After playing the Battlefront 2 beta last week, I gotta say, I'm super excited for it to come out! There looks to be soooo much more content in this game, spanning every Star Wars film to date! Having classes back in play is definitely nice, too.

I'd have to say my favorite part from the new beta is the space battle! I played that non-stop! They completely revamped the targeting mechanics and flight controls to make the battle feel more intense and rewarding. I'd explain it all here, but I think it's better to YouTube the new Star-fighter Assault to see it for yourself!

The beta didn't include any of the single-player campaign, but I'm sure it's going to be amazing. The brief cut-scenes that I've seen of it look really cool, and I'm excited for the main character.

The other thing that I'm excited for (since I'm leaning towards buying this for the Xbox One) is split-screen multiplayer on consoles! I had so much fun playing the original Battlefront 2 with friends in split-screen on PS2. I expect this new experience to bring back many memories. :)

I didn't get to play much of the beta due to what I was doing that weekend, and sadly I didn't get to play much of the space mission. I thought it was...interesting. haha. I didn't get a chance to really get used to the new target system, which I imagine is the big key to it. But I did really enjoy the map they had and how it was designed. I thought it was so cool that we were flying in and out of the base trying to destroy shield generators. I thought that was just so cool and adds a lot to the experience.

I got to play a bit more of the ground mission, and I thought that was fun. I really enjoyed being the clones again and shooting droids. haha. I also really enjoyed the feel of the game. It was heavy. The bullets had more weight and felt more like modern bullets. It was just a nice feel. I also enjoy the class system and how the cards are working.

I'm not a fan of the loot box system to get upgraded cards and bonuses. It's just too RNG and some of the bonuses we're talking about a very significant.

The single player campaign does have me very excited! I can't wait to see what this looks like at launch. I'm still on the fence about buying it. The beta helped a lot in showing that the game is going to have a lot of positive qualities over the original, but I'm just not sure if it's worth dropping the money on yet.

I just can't wait to play as the clones more and kill some droids! haha. That's what's really going to bring back memories for me.

So Battlefront 2 launched today for everyone. Has anyone picked it up?

The game has gotten a lot of attention here this week when the early access players were extremely upset with the progression system. This lead to a series of events including EA making a post on reddit which has become the most downvoted post ever, removing all in-game money transaction for launch, and more yet to come!

So not the best start for the game, but it does look beautiful. It has plenty of positive things about it, just a really bad progression and reward system from the reviews I've been seeing. I'm still tempted to buy it even with the news, though I kind of want to give it a few weeks to see what kind of changes are made because it seems rather obvious that they aren't going to be small changes.

Just bought the game! I can't wait to start playing for the rest of the week. :) I've been watching a lot of streams and videos, and it just looks like a fun Battlefront game. I've heard lots of great things about the game itself, so I want to give it a try. There was a lot of controversy at launch, but they seem to be working through those issues, and those issues aside, it's still a great game to just play.

I'm not able to play it until I get back to my apartment where my PS4 is at, but I'm super excited! :D

And I bought an xbox one copy last night! It has a huge download size though, so if I'm lucky, it might be ready to play by tonight. :) I think it's 60GB!

Woot! I'm so excited! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. :D I plan on playing some proper online multiplayer this weekend. I should come back and post my thoughts on the game then.

I've only played through the campaign at the moment. I've enjoyed it though. It is short, but it appears that they're releasing more of the story through DLC, so hopefully that keeps going for a while. The combat and mechanics themselves are fun, and I've been enjoying the experience thus far. :)
